Chromolaena odorata:
Biological Control in the Tropics
Background: Siam Weed is a major pest throughout
the tropics in the Developing World and beyond. This
comprehensive site is designed to offer proceedings,
newsletters, photographs and other research materials to
researchers, teachers, government officials and others.
First Mount Date: November 1996;
Redesign and update: December 1998.
Team: Linda Austin (re-design, navigation,
editing), Dr. R. Muniappan (content), technical support
provided by the Center for Tropical Pest Management,
University of Queensland, Australia.
Audience: Researchers, teachers, government
officers, located mostly in the countries of Africa, South
Asia and the Caribbean.
Notes: Layout and navigation design were a small
part of the creation of this site. It consisted of heavy
copy-editing and copy preparation as well as photo
digitization before the design work could begin. The layout
was kept simple to accommodate older technology commonly
found in lesser developed areas of the world.
