I
am an American Astronomical Society Teacher Resource Agent (the AASTRA
program) and I teach a class for teachers called "Hands-On Science".
In this class we learn all about how to do hands-on science activities
and how to adapt science textbook activities to local culture, local conditions
and local materials.
Eventully
many of these activities will be featured in a Hands-On Science website.
