The main concern of the GRC Perimeter Relay Race is SAFETY!!! To that end each Team Captain is a member of the Safety Committee. Each Captain will report any infractions of the rules in writing to the Race Director at the finish of the race. The penalties for infractions will be as follows:
1 infraction - Warning
2 infractions - 5 minutes added to total time
3 infractions - Disqualification
1. Teams
are to take every precaution to not impede traffic.
2. Team vehicles must pull off the road to make exchanges.
3. The race will consist of 20 designated legs. If
your team has less than 10
runners some runners will
run more than two legs.
Each leg must be completed by
only one runner (see below for location of
leg exchanges.)
4. The order of the runners is up to the Team Captain.
5. The divisions are as follows:
A.
Women's Teams (7 Women +)
B. Mixed Teams
(3-6 Women and 3-6 Men)
C. Men's Teams
(7 Men+).
6. There will be only ONE vehicle per team with a
team number attached
to the driver's door.
7. There will be a maximum of ten members on a team
plus an
optional driver.
8. Each team will provide its own logistical support
(i.e., water, etc.)
9. All teams must check in at the Seamans' Center
(Piti), the morning of
the race, between 5:00 a.m. and
5:30 a.m.
10. All teams will leave their first runner at Seamans'
Center and
proceed to Asan Beach
Park no later than 5:50 a.m.
11. The baton must be carried at all times and handed from
runner
to runner. Teams are
encouraged to have each member wear the
same color shirt.
12. The race ends at 1:00 p.m. promptly. If you have not
finished the
course at that time,
note your position and proceed to the finish line.
13. Awards: All teams will receive tee shirts and refreshments
at the end
of the event.
