Walter, KF2XN/KH2 is an associate member of MIDXA. He was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y. and his permanent residence is in Grand Island, New York. KF2XN is currently in Guam as a Loan Specialist with the Small Business Administration and is providing disaster assistance to Guam residents after Super Typhoon Paka. Walter's home station in N.Y. consists of a TS450SAT, a Clipperton L amplifier and a two element quad on an 80 foot crankup tower. Walter enjoys chasing DX, and participates in contests on HF while looking for new ones. He is also an active DX cluster user at his home QTH. KF2XN lived in Australia from 1974 to 1980, where he was active on HF as VK5WJ. His job with the SBA allows him to travel to various disaster areas in the U.S. and U.S. Territories, and he usually takes a radio on the road for emergency communications and DX'ing during his free time. Walter was involved in Hurricane Hugo relief in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands, and Hurricanes Marilyn and Hortense in the Caribbean. He expects to be in Guam for three to six months and is busy with his job, but hopes to get a few more days of free time so he can work some more DX as a visiting op from one the ham shacks in Guam. Because of his dedicated work to help the victims of Super Typhoon Paka, Walter was nominated as the first Honorary Member of MIDXA's Typhoon Century Club.
