Prerequisite
Successful completion of Algebra B or Algebra I (grade C or better) or teacher recommendation.
Course Description
Algebra II is a full year course designed as an extension of Algebra I. Additonal advanced topics on real numbers, linear open sentences, functions, polynomials and factoring are studied.
The B portion of the course continues with emphasis on rational expressions, radicals, irrational numbers, quadratic equations and functions, logarithms sequences, series and combinations.

Materials Needed
The student is required to supply the following items when they come to class everyday:
*Assigned text (covered)
*3-ring binder
*Loose leaf paper
*Pencil
*Calculators (optional)
*Other (specified by the teacher)
Instructional Method
Class periods will be conducted in the following manner: attendance will be taken (refer to the attendance policy found in the student handbook), coverage of new material in lecture type, exploratory chalkboard examples, student-teacher discussions, assignment, announced/surprised quizzes, reviews, tests, exams, and group activities.
Mid-quarter and weekly progress reports will be issued to students. Parents are required to sign and have their child return the reports to their teacher. These documents will be documented for future references. Parent-teacher conferences will be held every 1st and 3rd quarters; parents are encouraged to attend.
